Piece done for a literary website---I tried out a more Disney-inspired style for the illustration.
It's based on Gordon Dahlquist's novel, The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters. As I was reading the book, I saw it in my head as an adult-oriented animated feature. When I had the opportunity to draw a piece based on a book I enjoyed, that's how it came out.
Read the book. It's one of my new faves.

Really good picture. I also saw it as more of an animated story. I just finished the sequel!

You should try doing the villans
